Barrels By the Bay

Barrels By the Bay

A thriving watershed is essential to the overall health of every community we serve. It’s critical to the ecosystem, indispensable for economic prosperity and the success of our business. That is why Coca-Cola Beverages Florida places a priority on water stewardship and is committed to doing our part to conserve, restore and replenish our local water supplies. As our business continues to grow, we expect to continue partnering with conservation partners, such as Barrels by the Bay (BBTB) to work on replenishment projects to help balance the water we use in our beverages.

Most recently, we teamed up with BBTB to launch The Tampa Project. This program gives students of all ages the opportunity to learn more about their local waterways and how stormwater runoff concerns can be minimized using rain barrels. In addition to the barrels, participating teachers were provided all painting, education and installation materials for the project. We donated 40 recycled syrup drums for use in this project.

On January 12, teachers picked up the drums from our headquarters. From there, their students painted the drums and installed the conversion materials, transforming them into functioning rain barrels. The classrooms then installed into the local infrastructure of their choosing, helping to protect their community’s water resources.
